fuckyeahraysway: Today the Rays say goodbye (maybe) to a hero of this town. The Rays designated Dan Johnson earlier today, who in turn, elected for free agency. We all remember the Great Pumpkin as the man who hit the two strike/two out home run in the bottom of the 9th against the Yankees on the last day of the season to tie the game at 7-7(that ball ended up hitting some fan in the nuts as well.) I hope the very best for him, whether we resign him for cheaper or he goes somewhere else. I want the pole painted orange and I want his number retired NOW! Honestly, I hope when he retires the Rays do for him what they did for Rocco and find him some made up job just so he stays with the organization. Make him the head of Clutch-noone-thinks-this-will-happen-totally-out-of-nowhere-comeback operations.
